Neighborhood Elections!
Neighborhood election season is here! Most neighborhoods in the SE Uplift Coalition area are holding elections in May and they need you! Neighborhood associations are the officially recognized voice of Portland's 95 neighborhoods. Participation is voluntary and open to all residents who live, own property or a business within a neighborhood's boundaries. Neighborhood associations actively work to reflect the issues and needs of its membership.

Southeast Portland residents are forming a kitchen tool lending library, Kitchen Share SE.
On Wednesday February 8, from 6-8 pm, come to an Eat and Greet at Pyro Pizza and Potato Champion food carts, located at 12th and Hawthorne. The food carts will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from your dinner to help open Kitchen Share SE.
Going beyond the neighborly cup of sugar, Kitchen Share SE will be a place where community members can borrow tools and share in the joy of processing, preserving, and serving food. We hope to offer dehydrators, cider presses, canning equipment, ice-cream makers, food processors, bread makers, and more. We plan to grow into a community supported kitchen where we can share our culinary skills, nourish our bodies with healthy local food, and collaborate on projects.

Celebrate the positive things happening in community! Community Outreach of Our United Villages invites you to the sixth presentation of Sharing Ideas on Thursday, May 24th, 2012 at the June Key Delta Center (5940 North Albina Street) from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Sharing Ideas showcases the positive efforts of neighbors, groups and organizations throughout Portland.
Neighborhood Cleanups are well under way! Do you have items in your home that are difficult to dispose of? This is your chance for a truly rewarding spring cleaning! Neighborhood Associations use their cleanups to raise money for projects in their communities—and you can contribute by dropping off any and all unwanted bulky waste and hard to recycle items that may be taking up valuable space in your home! It is a win-win!
