Laurelhurst

Events:

Garage Sale, Father’s Day weekend, Saturday, June 19th, from 9:00 to 3:00.

This is the 25th Anniversary of this sale! Every year, hundreds of Laurelhurst residents host individual garage sales in a coordinated, all-day, neighborhood-wide event. Everyone will receive a yard sign and have your location posted on a map handout including a list of key items for sale.  Many dealers attend this famous sale, so if you are interested in particular pieces, get out early! The single-day event is widely advertised and open to the public.

Maps will be available beginning at 9:00 a.m. on June 19th at map stations throughout the neighborhood and will be on the website.

Registration is $25 for an individual household and $35 for multiple families or organizations participating in a single sale. Proceeds from registration fees help maintain our great neighborhood – please be generous and pay your fee to participate.

To be included on the map:
1.      Register no later than Thursday, June 10th, by returning the registration form in this newsletter to 330 SE Cesar Chavez Blvd, Portland 97214 or download a registration form from the LNA web site: www.laurelhurstpdx.org and email it to me at kristine@treeinabox.com.
2.      Pick up your signs at 330 SE Cesar Chavez Blvd Friday night June 18th from 5-7:30 pm. (I will send out a letter/ email  to remind signed up participants of this date and time.)  All participants will receive extra maps when picking up their signs.
3.      Note that we need toilet station locations and map stations in all four quadrants.  Please indicate on your registration if you would like to be considered for one of these sites.  This is a great way to get many people to your sale.

I need some specific volunteers to help:
1.      Put up 2 Banners at Coe Circle: This requires 2 people, 2 ladders and about 1 to 1 ½ hours.
2.      Place sandwich board signs announcing sale on sidewalks in 8 designated locations; about 1 hour.
3.      Volunteer to be the LNA Booth: Have a small banner, sell T-shirts, hats and food; meet neighbors, have fun, be creative J
4.      One volunteer to store one rack of signs (rack measuring ~2’ X 4’, containing 50 signs) after the sale for one year.

If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact Kristine Akins at 503-236-8367 or kristine@treeinabox.com.

Thank you to the people who, over the years, have made this event so organized I am having an easy time following up!!
